about

Down in my head it's way too dark to always forget...

Have you had a memory you wish you could erase? Convince yourself that things happened differently; effectively gaslight yourself? Some memories pull like strings as long as we hold onto them. Our dark new song channels the paranoia and disbelief when reminded of memories we wish we could forget.

"13" sits alongside the sonic energy of Foo Fighters with the murky intrigue of a Vincent Price monologue. Dynamic shifts and transitions throughout the song mirror the sudden rage and disorientation when the memories and hard feelings we've tried to hide resurface; much like finding the hidden 13th floor of a building followed by the elevator dropping below your feet.

lyrics

I am yours
the book you colored black.
You made me
so won't you take this back.
Pull the strings
they just confuse your mood.
All these things
once weighted now we'll lose.

And I don't remember
I don't recall you.

Can you hang
from things you used to say?
To save face
I just need time to breath.
I blocked out
the pounding on the door.
I came to!
I've seen bloodstains once before.

And I don't remember
I don't recall you.

Down in my head
it's way too dark
to always forget.
Bend my days
at Occam's side;
just bad ideas
it's no surprise.

'Cause I don't remember
I don't recall you.
Bend my days
at Occam's side;
just bad ideas
it's no surprise.
