about

Seems the more mountain we climb, the more snow we find.

"Mountains" is the closest thing to a power ballad we've ever written. It's a sonic tale of grief and longing for the intrepid millennial in an uncertain future.

The lyrics recount a dicey mountain backpacking trip with a former partner, sharing the triumph of enduring hardships in the elements and connecting on a primal level only to face the loss of that bond and support during the pandemic lockdowns. The isolation, disillusion, and self-pity of that experience felt almost worse than being lost in the cold and unforgiving wilderness.

"Mountains" welcomes you into its sinkhole of emotions with
seismic guitars, regret-stricken vocals, and raw physical drumming.
Striking a balance between the brutal intensity of nature and the contemplative resilience of the human spirit.

We're proud to announce the final member of our "Enough to Be
Dangerous" EP and a turning of the page in a chapter of life, this band, and our music.

lyrics

Keeps going up
sun's tired out.
Seems the more mountain we climb
the more snow we find.
Postholed and stuck,
Jumped across the rocks,
Lost the trail an hour ago,
Maybe we’ll die tonight.

Saw an angel
Yeah she looked just like you
Now it’s over and there’s nothing I can do
No matter what they say
No matter what you think
I’d rather be lost in the mountains

Let’s push ahead
Just around the bend.
The lake looks like a tomb
Find a dry spot to camp.
Wind’s rolling in,
having sex to stay warm.
We’ll shake the tent for hours
while we weather the storm.

Saw an angel
Yeah she looked just like you
Now it’s over and there’s nothing I can do
No matter what they say
No matter what you think
I’d rather be lost in the mountains.
Rather be lost in the mountains with you.
Rather be lost than…
Rather be lost than without you.
